NATURAL LEMON EUCALYPTUS INSECT REPELLENTS - ARE YOU BEING CONNED?

HAVE YOU RECENTLY BOUGHT A "NATURAL" INSECT REPELLENT CLAIMING TO BE RECOMMENDED BY THE CDC?

If the answer is yes then you need to read on.....

  • The CDC (Centres for disease control) recommends “Oil of Lemon Eucalyptus” (OLE) as an insect repellent

  • This recommendation refers to EPA-registered repellent products containing the active ingredient OLE

OLE is NOT to be confused with “Pure” Lemon Eucalyptus Essential Oil

Pure Lemon Eucalyptus Essential oil is NOT registered with the EPA as an insect repellent, and is NOT covered by the recommendation by the CDC

  • OLE was Registered by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) in 2000.

  • OLE/Oil of Lemon Eucalyptus is actually a trade name and was originally formulated by the drug company Merck

  • “PURE LEMON EUCALYPTUS ESSENTIAL OIL IS NOT RECOMMENDED BY THE CDC; IT HAS NOT UNDERGONE SIMILAR, VALIDATED TESTING FOR SAFETY AND EFFICACY

  • While technically plant based OLE is a chemically synthesized version of lemon eucalyptus and not an essential oil.

SO THERE YOU HAVE IT
