#19 GET NOTICED

So, your perfumes/products are ready, the paperwork is in order, and you've got a fabulous website. What next?

Well, you need customers. Marketing can cost a bomb if you use agencies, and is that really the right way initially?

You could try Etsy. Many vendors have a love-hate relationship with the platform and others rave about it. In 2020, they had 4.4 million sellers, so it's competitive.

Facebook groups and forums are an effective way to reach potential customers, but they often have rules about brand promotions, so you'll need to contact admin to check first.

Please avoid dancing on TikTok. You won't be taken seriously, and it could damage your brand image before you've even started.

You'll need good SEO for your site, and you can either invest time in training yourself or hire an expert who can get quicker results.

PR is a good option too, which can vary from a few thousand to tens of thousands. In Dubai, I was lucky enough to find an amazing PR guru. She wrote press releases and got me into the most popular newspapers, magazines and radio shows, even a spot on the TV!

Don't forget social media. Love it or hate it, it's a free way to get global recognition for your brand.

You can have the best product in the world, but if your brand is invisible, you'll never sell anything.
